Choosing an eSIM for Saudi Arabia

All 143 plans here use Mobily, STC, and Zain — two of Saudi Arabia's three mobile networks; Mobily, the third operator, isn't among them. The regulator CST's 2025 Saudi Internet Report puts the median 5G download speed at 320 Mbps.

None of these plans exits in Saudi Arabia: the ones that state an exit put it in Singapore, UK, or Belgium, so websites see an IP address there. The exit is listed under “IP location” in each plan's details.

Another 66 don't state an exit.

Install before you fly. If you land without one, free Wi-Fi covers Riyadh and Jeddah airports — Jeddah's Wi-Fi comes in timed sessions you can rejoin — and the networks sell visitor SIMs in the arrivals halls. Buying a local SIM means a fingerprint scan at the counter; Zain lets visitors do that step online through Absher, the interior ministry's platform.

Saudi Arabia eSIM networks compared

Saudi Arabia plans here use 3 local networks: Mobily, Zain, and STC. Some plans stay on one network; others list several and connect to whichever has signal.

  • Mobily 5G 74 plans · 34 on this network only · Per day / Total data
  • Zain 5G 59 plans · 19 on this network only · Per day / Total data
  • STC 5G 50 plans · 50 on this network only · Per day / Total data

Signal depends on where you are. For a specific place, check the operator’s coverage map.

About eSIMs for Saudi Arabia

Do I need a visa for Saudi Arabia?

Yes — but not necessarily in advance: the tourist eVisa is issued online or on arrival at Saudi international airports, valid for a year with multiple entries and up to 90 days in total, health insurance included. With a British passport you can instead apply online for the electronic visa waiver at least 48 hours before flying — one entry, up to six months. The UK government warns that overstaying means large fines, detention and deportation.

Can I do Umrah on a tourist visa?

Yes — Umrah outside the Hajj season is allowed on the eVisa and the electronic visa waiver, with permits booked in the official Nusuk app; Hajj itself needs a dedicated visa. During Hajj the authorities stop non-pilgrims flying into Jeddah, Madinah and Taif, though other airports stay open. Pilgrims and seasonal workers must show a quadrivalent meningococcal vaccination certificate.

Do I need a Saudi phone number?

Most travellers don't. Each plan's details say whether it includes a local number.

Which operators will my phone use in Saudi Arabia?

Mobily, STC, Zain. Which one you connect to depends on local signal.

Where in Saudi Arabia can I use it?

Anywhere the plan’s networks have signal, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, Medina; rural and mountain areas depend on local coverage.

Is 5G supported?

Yes. Operators here are listed with 5G; each plan's networks show which.

What happens when the data runs out?

It depends on the plan: some keep a usable speed of 1 Mbps / 5 Mbps; others drop to 128 Kbps / 384 Kbps / 512 Kbps, which is enough for messaging; others stop data.

When does the validity start?

It starts when the eSIM first connects to a network. You can install it before you go.

Can I use a hotspot to share data in Saudi Arabia?

95 of these plans state personal hotspot support, so you can share data with a laptop or travel companions. It comes out of this eSIM’s allowance. Look for “Personal hotspot” in the plan details.

Can I install the same eSIM on a second phone?

No. Each QR code installs once. If you delete the eSIM or reset the phone, it can't be installed again, and once it has connected to a network it can't be refunded.

Can I top up data or extend validity?

Some plans add data, some add days, and some can't be topped up; each plan says which. Top up from the eSIM in My eSIMs. There's nothing new to install.

Are these prices tax inclusive?

Yes. The listed price is the final price.
